Auditing Association of Canada (AAC) – Certified Health and Safety Management System Lead Auditor Training (CHSMSA designation)

The AAC offers Certified Health and Safety Management System Auditor (CHSMSA) designation. This designation requires candidates to meet criteria in 4 categories: formal education; formal training; work experience and audit experience (refer to AAC website for details). The CHSMSA designation is one of the requirements that provincial governments are considering for future COR audits. AAC has been requested to provide formal training for health and safety auditors (including but not limited to COR auditors). The training will focus on understanding the requirements of the two principle standards ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems – Requirements with Guidance for Use and ISO 19011 Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems. The course will focus on both theory and practical application. The course is practical, interactive and based on the experience of auditors. A number of sessions are being scheduled in Alberta.

Location: Calgary: ACSA Campus
Date: September 9-13, 2019
Cost: on or before August 1, 2019 $1200.00 plus applicable taxes, after August 1, 2019 $1320.00 plus applicable taxes.
Instructors: The instructor(s) are experienced management system auditors.

Candidates will be responsible for providing their own copies of the standards that can be purchased through the CSA bookstore. ISO 45001 and ISO 19011 are the standards that auditors will use as they conduct future audits.

Successful completion of this course (attendance and passing the test) meets the formal training requirement for the CHSMSA designation.  To provide credit for this course there is a test that covers all of the material presented.  The passing grade is 75%.  There is also an exam for candidates that qualify for the designation.  We will explain this during the course.

The course can accommodate up to 25 people with 12 being the minimum number. AAC reserves the right to cancel the course(s) with liability limited to reimbursing the course costs.  Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
