CERTIFICATIONS & DESIGNATIONS





AAC is a leader in environmental, health and safety auditing certification in Canada, continually developing and expanding progressive and innovative certification opportunities in response to membership and sector demand.

AAC offers two professional designations:

We also work with our Eco Canada partner on continually improving both the Environmental Professional—Compliance Auditor—EP(CEA), and the Environmental Professional—Environmental Management Systems Lead Auditor EP(EMSLA).

AAC has adopted and adheres to requirements prescribed in applicable standards, and in doing do ensures that a high standard of excellence is maintained.

Benefits and Competencies of a Certified Auditor 

Certified Auditors bring the assurance of knowing they successfully:

    • Completed an independent, peer examination and verification process for their area of expertise.
    • Completed the applicable education and focused training.
    • Use a Plan Do Check Act methodology approach to planning, executing and reporting audits.
    • Attained the experience auditing organizational management systems in their area of expertise required to qualify and maintain certification. 
    • Maintain legal and other requirements awareness in their area of expertise for the jurisdictions they work.
    • Ensure continuous knowledge and skills growth through ongoing professional development demanded  by a certification maintenance.

AAC Auditor Certification Designations

AAC is a leader in environmental, health and safety (EHS) auditor profession support in Canada, including certifying and supporting important EHS auditing designations.

    • Our programs develop progressive and innovative certified skills and professional opportunities in response to membership and sector demand.
    • AAC offers:
      • Certified Health & Safety Management Systems Auditor (CHSMSA)
      • Provisional Environmental Auditor (PEA) (for people looking to develop skills and experience in the environmental auditing field) designations.

NOTE:  The above fees are for submitting for new/renewed certifications only, annual maintenance fees for the designation as well as AAC membership is required to retain the designation as current.

AAC External Certification Support

In conjunction with our certifying partner Eco Canada, and through theCanadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board (CECAB) committees, we are the technical criteria qualification development authority for the following certifications issued through Eco Canada.

Eco Canada offers several environmental designations, including 

    • Environmental Professional—Compliance Auditor—EP(CEA), and 
    • Environmental Professional—Environmental Management Systems Lead Auditor EP(EMSLA).
